Spring!!!!

Yay! What a lovely spring day!
I spent quite a bit of time outside today, pity it was hanging washing! But I must admit it probably took me twice as long as I kept wandering off to look at the garden!
The flowers are out in full bloom, and although it's all a bit overgrown, it's looking nice and green and colorful!

Popcorn- the old fashion way....

I just fancied some popcorn! But I don't own a popcorn maker- so the old fashion way it had to be!!
You know, the old sauce pan on the cook top way!
The boys thought it was great, getting excited at every pop!
Once we had a big bowl full we decided on making different flavors. One lot plain- with just a touch of butter, one lot icing sugar - just like I used to have as a kid, and one lot caramel.
That was the one I was most excited about. I've actually never made caramel before! So I just mixed sugar, honey and butter together, I don't think that's quite right, but it worked, and it tasted delicious!
Now I kinda feel sick from eating too much!

More owls!

Good Morning!
So I've been working on a few more owls this morning! These two are mini owls. Both made from recycled materials!
Still a few more just waiting to be stuffed!

Happy Birthday!!!!

Wow! Seven years ago today, my oldest boy came into this world! Time really has gone so quickly!!
It's amazing to think what he has accomplished in those 7 years. He's learnt to walk, talk, read, and write. He's going to school, plays soccer, has friends of his own.
He had a party yesterday. This set me a new challenge. He wanted an Avengers cake. Captain America is his favourite. So the challenge was on. I was going to use Fondant for the first time! I've seen it used hundreds of times on the cake shows on Telly, so that's all the lessons I need!! Haha!!
Actually I think I did a pretty good job. Not bad for my first attempt. (I was informed however that the shield was not right, and even after I re-made it, it still didn't pass the 7yr old test-too bad!)

Peggy Project

In the sewing room today...... A little Peggy project!
I actually saw this in a magazine the other day. They had used scrapbooking papers (and better quality pegs) and it looked fantastic! So this is my take on it....with ribbon of course!! I just used some ribbons from my stash, and a pack of $2 pegs! And I just had to add a couple of buttons as well!
I'm going to use these on my pin-up boards.

Let's get organized!!

Well I don't know about you, but I get in a huge mess when creating! I have material, cottons, ribbons, buttons, templates....... Everything everywhere! But it is an organized mess. I know where everything is (most of the time)!! But hubby had had enough, so being the kind thoughtful man he is, bought me a shelving unit! (some wives get flowers, I get storage!) but the gift was great fully received, as I now am more organized, and it has given me more inspiration to get sewing!!! I think it may be in need of a garland to pretty it up!!
